California Community Schools Partnership Program

A community school is a public school serving prekindergarten through grade twelve that partners with the community to support academic success, whole-child engagement, and family development. By removing barriers to learning, community schools ensure students have access to the supports, opportunities, and resources they need to fully participate in teaching and learning. Their strategies include integrated support services, extended learning time, and collaborative leadership for educators and administrators.

Moreno Valley Unified School District proudly received state grant funding to expand this transformational model to nine schools—two high schools, two middle schools, and five elementary schools—through the California Community Schools Partnership Program. Working alongside district leaders and community partners, MVUSD Community Schools provide a coordinated and powerful approach to uplifting student achievement and family well-being.
