Meet Your Counselors
Who are School Counselors?
- A School Counselor is a licensed/certified professional holding a minimum of a Master's Degree and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.
What is their role?
- The role of a Professional School Counselor is to design and deliver school counseling programs that improve student outcomes.
- They lead, advocate and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students by connecting their school counseling program to the school’s academic mission and school improvement plan.
- They uphold the ethical and professional standards of the American School Counseling Association (ACSA) and promote the development of the school counseling program based on the following areas of the ASCA National Model: define, deliver, manage and assess.
What services are offered?
School counselors create school counseling programs based on three sets of standards that define the profession. These standards help school counselors develop, implement and assess their school counseling program to improve student outcomes.

Meet the Counseling Team
Meet our amazing counselor, Dr. Moti Irani!!!
Greetings Huskies! My name is Dr. Moti Irani, and I am the school counselor at Hendrick Ranch. I service ALL students at Hendrick Ranch Elementary school by providing universal Tier 1 supports through preventative Guidance Lessons on such topics as social-emotional learning, bullying prevention, skills for learning, mindfulness, and transitioning successfully to middle school (for more information click the link on the right for my student Google Classroom).
I am also the trainer and facilitator for the Husky Leader/Conflict Manager and the Husky Greeter programs, as well as the Mindful Monday Morning and Wisdom Wednesday Morning Announcements. My Tier 2 targeted services include individual and group counseling for students who are referred and identified as needing more support due to concerns with environmental barriers affecting their attendance, behavior, or academics (see link to counseling referral to the right).
School Counselors provide Multi-Tiered, Multi-Domain Systems of Support (MTMDSS) to help students achieve success in academics, social-emotional learning (SEL), and college and career readiness.
If your family or student(s) require more intensive Tier 3 counseling supports, you can contact me at the school for referrals to outside agencies, such as Care Solace.
