Hello Hendrick Ranch Families:

Welcome to Hendrick Ranch Elementary School in Moreno Valley Unified School District! Hendrick Ranch is an exciting place to educate your student and we (staff, teachers, and administration) are honored to be a part of your students’ educational journey.   As demands and complexities of teaching our students increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our students reach their fullest potential.  At Hendrick Ranch we believe that all of us-the school and the community- must work together in an extended family environment to promote success for all our students.  We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible. 

With that in mind, we encourage you to be an active participant at Hendrick Ranch Elementary School. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the AAPAC, ELAC, SSC or any other special school event I encourage you to get involved.  Research on schools clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success for their student.  Students at Hendrick Ranch are able to engage in monthly STEAM Learning Labs (Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics), daily SEL (Social Emotional Learning) lessons, PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), and our amazing Seven Husky Habits! 

It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at our school.  Please look through your student’s backpack for flyers for updated activities.  We will also update our Marquee and send out parent links to keep you informed of upcoming activities.  I look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family.

Greetings Husky Scholars, Community and Partners,

My name is Denise Macedo and I am your new Assistant Principal. I am new to Moreno Valley Unified School District, coming from Orange County with over 13 years of experience in education. My experience ranges from being a 2^nd grade co-teacher, an after school program English Language Arts teacher, a 5^th and 6th grade GATE teacher to a Kinder through 6^th grade English Language Arts and Mathematics intervention teacher. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) along with a certification in Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) and K-12 Administrative credential from the University of Southern California. 

My passion in education comes in serving historically marginalized communities by providing not only excellence in education with best, first instruction, but by providing equity in education. To me equity in education is about giving students what they need in order to be successful and thrive at school. With best, first instruction, high expectations, and by giving all scholars what they need, they will accomplish more than they ever knew they could. I truly believe education is the key to success!

My leadership style is grounded in servant leadership. I am here to support not only our Hendrick Ranch Elementary school teachers, students, and staff; I am also here to support you and your student in any way I can. Every day I do my best to listen to understand, be positive, and problem solve. While working with your students I always keep the quote "The secret in education lies in respecting the student" by Ralph Waldo Emerson in mind. I use restorative practices, kindness, and again seeking to understand when working with you and your student(s).

I am proud of the Hendrick Ranch Elementary school community for providing Moreno Valley scholars with a safe school community where we can focus on learning and thriving. If you have any questions, concerns or thoughts, I am always here to help and listen. I look forward to continuing to serve the Hendrick Ranch Elementary school community!
