ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Moreno Valley's amazing elementary school, Hendrick Ranch, has welcomed students and their families since 1990. We are the recipient of The Gold Ribbon (for outstanding school-community partnerships) for Title 1 Schools (2016). Hendrick Ranch has a Silver Medal in PBIS. Academic success, such as that which we experience at Hendrick Ranch Elementary School, occurs when school and family work in partnership towards a common goal.
Setting high expectations for students, allowing students to be responsible for their own learning, and held accountable for their own behavior choices develops students' self efficacy and provides them the opportunity to take pride in their accomplishments.
Our students' social emotional learning is a top priority at Hendrick Ranch. Behavioral expectations are implemented, monitored, and evaluated following the “Positive Behavior Intervention and Support” (PBIS) research-based process. Hendrick Ranch's school-wide PBIS Rewards Program works to incentivize students' good choices and behavior with a point system where students can shop in a student store for prizes.
AVID
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determintation. Huskies learn how to organize their materials, time, and thoughts starting in TK! WICOR is used to provide structure throughout each day (Writing Inquiry Collaboration Organization and Reading). The AVID pathway provides students with opportunities for inquiry based learning and rich academic conversations that prepare our students to be 21st century learners. Teachers are encouraged to use AVID strategies as catalysts that inspire future leaders who are prepared to attend college and/or pursue careers.
